Joshua Robinson was driving on the South Side of Providence in the early morning hours when he was pulled over by Sgt. David Allen. Several police arrived on the scene and unleashed a furious beating on the 4′ 10′ 115″ pound young Black man. Robinson was hospitalized with Rodney King-type facial and bodily injuries. Despite being the victim of a brutal beating, Robinson was immediately imprisoned and falsely charged with assaulting the three extremely large officers and resisting arrest. Our investigation helped Robinson’s defense team convince the jury to reach a not guilty verdict.
